Unchain

In a nation driven by envy and greed
Lives a society where only a few will succeed
Eager only to educate, house or feed
An entitled contempt for those left in need

The culture of scorn and outright disdain
Keep unfortunate souls locked up in the chain

An unending quest to always have more
Has institutionalized abuse of the poor
Imagine if all of the resources for war
Were used to strengthen humanity’s core

When dealing daily with hunger and pain
There’s no fight left to break from the chain

Importance, once judged by size and girth
Is now solely measured by ones’ net worth
Separated to “haves” and “nots” right at birth
Instead of nurturing all life on Earth

Civilization has a lot more to gain
If mankind is freed from the poverty chain

Save Christmas from the Communists

Onward Christian solders, The time has now come
To reject this holiday as it has succumb
To the Marxist agenda of a liberal Pope
Who dares question our wealth in attempts to spread hope

For you know I will fight tooth, nail and fist
To try and save Christmas from the Communists…

The laze of the poor comes at great cost to us
In the global war against the prosperous
Don’t care if you’re impoverished, look under my tree
The swipe of my card fixed the economy

Imagine if everyone had the same ole' lists
We have to save Christmas from the Communists…

The pain and suffering is easy to ignore
If you don’t acknowledge the existence of poor
Get em to work instead of just play
don’t Rush to help cause that’s not the way

I see nothing wrong with a stop and frisk
To try and save Christmas from the Communists…

No time to wipe anguish off a hungry face
I’m decorating my house so it’s seen from space
The glowing lights washout global despair
And let me enjoy Christmas without even a care

May the ignorance fueling my God given bliss
Be the savior of Christmas from the Communists...

Looking for Love

Companionship and devotion
Require you to concede

How vulnerable you are
And what it is that you need

Loneliness builds to the brink
But you bare it,

You know what a feeling feels like
So share it

Unaware if it’s love
Or merely just lust,

But honestly looking
For someone to trust,

Avoid foolish expectations
Of ease or perfection

And the continuous fear
Of personal rejection

There isn’t one recipe,
Path or cause

Except learning to love
The embracement of flaws

Doug "more or" less

There once was a guy named Doug
With a schnoz too big for his mug
And although it looks tacky
When he wears all Khaki
I still want to give him a hug

Growing up in a brook that was “stony”
He must not have been a phony
Cause early in life
He met his wife
and has yet to pay alimony

His driving test was no breeze,
But with Michigan and Harvard degrees
He learned in college
To be an “officer of knowledge”
So now he can do as he please

Just hanging with Zacky and Zoe
And Watching the little ones grow
But when Zoologist or Dancer
Are looking for an answer
Apa’s the one who will know

Lover of fossils and rocks
And sandals worn with socks
Inspired by Muppets
The use of puppets
Is incorporated into his talks

Blessed with a darn good Dad
We all didn’t turn out so bad
Taught that logic and reason
Is “in” every season
And for this we’re eternally glad

Faith in Fate

Pretending we can just be friends
While knowing that is fake

Time with you has become a test
Of the torture I can take

It hurts so bad every time I leave
A wound that won't fully heal

Needing to come back for more
Just to be sure I can feel

Is there no undoing
Once you've mated my soul?

Is a heart already broken
If it’s never been whole?

I wish you knew I love you
But I haven't put up the fight

I’m afraid that I'd lose you forever
If the timing isn’t right

Believing in not knowing
I can only sit and wait

Looking for the stars to align
I have Faith in Fate.
